Wieslaw Wardynski Icon Art workshop is a family business founded in 1992. The inspiration for founding the company was the interest in sacred art, original technologies of writing icons as well as repoussage and carving techniques.
In our store there are mainly 18-19th century copies of Greek-Catholic icons, however, on special order we are able to make any copy of an icon.
Our Work
Founded in 1992, Icon Art workshop is a family business dedicated to the
art of iconography. Our roots lie in the deep interest and admiration for sacred art, as well as the mastery of writing icons using original
techniques like repoussage and carving. In our store, you will find a collection mainly consisting of 18-19th-century Greek-Catholic icon replicas. However, if you have a specific icon in mind, we are more than
capable of crafting a faithful reproduction upon request.
Technology
The manufacturing technology of "ICON - ART" products is modeled on traditions dating back to the Middle Ages, drawing on Rublev's achievements, as well as later Orthodox and Roman Catholic techniques.
From oil painting on boards with oak wedges, handwritten icons with silver and gilded sleeves, created on gold flakes, to icons with crowns richly decorated with precisely applied jewelery enamel of the Swiss company Schauer.
