This riza is plated in sterling silver and hand-painted with an holy Icon of Mary, Mother of Mercy, Blessed Mother of God "The God Loving". It is a reproduction of an XVII-century icon and is safeguarded by a metal cover plated in .999 sterling silver, lending it a shimmering and polished finish.

Beautiful icon of Mother of Mercy. The icon features metal hook for hanging.

We call Mary Mother of Mercy because she is the mother of God who is Divine Mercy, and as our mother, she obtains God's mercy for us through her intercession. The icon of Mary, Mother of Mercy was painted probably in Vilnius in the period between 1620-1630. Despite numerous investigations, the painter remains unknown. Currently the icon is located in the chapel of Mary Mater Misericordia in Vilnius Lithuania.
